The data Center is part of Geological Institute of Ethiopia. Core role: Collecting, processing, Sorting and Disseminating Geo-scientific data: Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Hydrogeology, Engineering geology, Geothermal and Mineral Exploration.

NATIONAL GEOCHEMICAL MAPPING PROJECT (ETHIO-CHINESE COOPRATION PROJECT)

To generate a multi-purpose geochemical data on 69 chemical elements and produce the Geochemical Atlas of the country.
The project started in September 2016 and continued until September 2019, after which it was terminated due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Totally 48.8% of the country’s territory was mapped.
